Home & Hospice Care of Rhode Island Names Franchitto President & CEO

Diana FranchittoPROVIDENCE, R.I. – Home & Hospice Care of Rhode Island, the largest hospice in the state and a leader in hospice and palliative care for more than three decades, has named Diana Franchitto of Foxboro, Mass., its new president and CEO. She has served as acting president and CEO since July of this year. She joined the organization as vice president for marketing and philanthropy in January 2007.

“We’ve been extremely fortunate to have benefitted from the skill, experience and commitment Diana has provided in overseeing our organization,” said Jack Treanor, Home & Hospice Care of Rhode Island board of trustees chairman and Washington Trust Company president and COO. “Now, we can look forward to her furthering the mission of offering outstanding care to our patients and their families.”

Franchitto’s experience encompasses nearly 30 years in senior leadership health care positions including business development and marketing responsibilities. Before joining Home & Hospice Care of Rhode Island, she was interim senior vice president for public affairs at Caritas Christi Health Care, Boston and Vice President for marketing at Caritas Norwood Hospital in Norwood, Mass.

Franchitto is a graduate of Bentley College, Waltham, Mass., where she also received a master’s of business administration degree. She is also chairman of the board of trustees of HESSCO Elder Services in Sharon, Mass. and is a graduate of Leadership Rhode Island, an organization that supports and cultivates community leaders in Rhode Island.
